Karimba – Karimba or Thumb pianos are most common to sub-Saharan Africa. There are many names for these instruments. Mbira, karimba, sansa, and prempensua are just a few. They consist of a sound box with wooden or metal keys attached on the top. The keys are plucked with thumbs.
